Dr. Laucius was born in Lithuania where she attended Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine.  There she was awarded her MD in 1997. While studying for her MD, she worked as an Operating Room nurse for emergency operations at St. Jacob's Hospital in Vilnius. Following her education, she Interned at the Public Hospital of Utena, Utena, Lithuania 1997 - 1998 and completed a  Residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and Pain Management, at Vilnius University Hospital Santariskiu Clinics.

 

Dr. Laucius came to the United State in 2004 and was an Internal Medicine Resident at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, Brooklyn, N.Y.  This was followed by a specialization in Palliative Medicine as a fellow at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC (2007-2008) and then St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti (2009-2011).  In addition to Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Dr. Laucius is certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

 

Dr. Laucius is fluent in English, Lithuanian, and Russian.  

 

Married and the mother of a young son, Dr. Laucius enjoys reading and crocheting.
