Dr. Todd's childhood was spent in rural upstate South Carolina where she grew up digging up potatoes and fishing in her grandfather’s pond. She decided to become a physician at 13, when her grandmother died of pancreatic cancer. She went to medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and did her residency at the University of South Carolina Richland Memorial Hospital. In medical school she learned the “biopsychosocial" model, “to know and treat the whole person,”and that is the way she practices medicine.
When not working, the outdoors is where Dr. Todd spends time and is most comfortable. She will be bringing one of her dogs, a frisbee king, and together they will explore the area. She is looking forward to discovering the Michigan dunes and Petosky stones, and all the lakes and rivers that Michigan has in abundance.
She is an avid reader and one of her favorite quotes is from the book, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, “you have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.”
